Buy & Sell EV Batteries: 4R Battery Alliance’ Roundtable

Oct 9, 2025

Yesterday saw the inaugural ‘4R Battery Alliance’ roundtable, hosted by recell.store and chaired by Tom Rumboll, and bringing together people from across the EV battery ecosystem to listen and learn from each other.
Our mission at the 4R Battery Alliance is to create full battery circularity in the UK, meaning, ultimately, that every EV battery in the country ends up being fully recycled to make new EV batteries. To achieve this aim, it’s vital we bring the right people together to exchange ideas, challenges and solutions.

In our first meeting, our members highlighted 5 key areas of focus:
·      The importance of battery testing in providing confidence and consistency to all battery transactions
·      The availability of information throughout the EV battery supply chain
·      Ensuring we have the skills and necessary resources in the sector
·      Bringing consumers on the journey with us
·      Ensuring that all parties adhere to good standards and practices, keeping everyone in our sector safe and compliant.

As you can see, we covered a lot of ground, but this is just the start and we’re excited to use our collective skills and experience to accelerate the unique opportunity we have to create this circular economy for EVs here in the UK.
